Pendle Witch Opera Fundraiser
Well, what a journey! Georgina and Helen adventured across Lancashire, travelling along the Lancashire Witches Way, to raise money for The Pendle Witch, a new opera based on the famous story of the 1612 witch trials in Lancashire. The 51 mile journey began in Barrowford and ended at Lancaster Castle, with stops near Clitheroe, Slaidburn and Caton along the way. Coffee Concert June 4th – The Priory, Lancaster
To celebrate the Jubilee weekend, Outreach Opera entertained a wonderful audience at Lancaster’s Priory on Saturday, singing arias and duets from the best loved operas. The highlight was a section dedicated to Ralph Vaughan Williams as 2022 marks the 150th of his birth. Outreach Opera were thrilled to receive such warm reception and look forward to returning on July 8th as part of their Festival Of Earth.

Reopening of Astley Park 2022
What an amazing day!!
The new look Astley Hall opened for visitors after two years of renovation work and Outreach Opera had the pleasure of singing at the event, which was opened by Lindsay Hoyle MP, accompanied by the Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Alistair Bradley and the Mayor of Chorley, Councillor Julia Berry.

Astley Park – Recording
We were back at Astley Park for a recording session as part of Rebecca Chesney’s exhibition at Astley Hall. What a magnificent building and such a privilege to sing Rebecca’s words in the nooks and crannies of Astley Hall.

Astley Illuminated – Astley Park, Chorley
Astley Park are offering a wonderful free event on February 19th in collaboration with artist Rebecca Chesney, About Time Dance Company and Outreach Opera.
The popular annual event will see Astley Hall’s exterior and grounds come alive with light, music and mystery as this historic building is beautifully lit with magnificent light displays.
Inspired by the hidden stories of Astley Hall they will be brought into the light by professional and community dancers and singers.
The evening is accompanied by an exhibition in the Coach House Gallery which will share the experience of creating the event and there will also be some well loved faces providing refreshments throughout the evening.

Violets Deli, Clitheroe
Outreach Opera had the pleasure of singing in Clitheroe for Violet’s Deli’s community Christmas party. Donna, Scott and all the lovely staff there don’t just offer wonderful food and drink, they have succeeded in creating a space that supports well-being and mental health, through various community groups, gatherings and projects.

Outreach Opera had an absolutely blast performing for a wonderful audience at Astley Park, Chorley. The Walled Garden proved to be the perfect space to perform Puccini’s most famous opera and yet again, the weather was kind.

Last Night Of The Proms – Ordsall Hall, Salford
The weather was extremely kind last Sunday for the first concert of this year’s Last Night Of The Proms series. The welcoming audience enjoyed a variety of Proms classics, performed in the beautiful setting of Ordsall Hall. Outreach Opera are looking forward to returning there in September with their production of La Bohéme.

Puccini’s La Boheme Summer Tour 2021 – Hoghton Tower, Nr Preston
Outreach Opera continue their summer tour of Puccini’s La Boheme, heading to Astley Park’s Walled Garden in Chorley on September 3rd. Enjoy this beautiful opera, presented as an open-air show where audiences are invited to enjoy a picnic on the lawn.

Busking Tour – Astley Park, Chorley
Today Outreach Opera visited the very beautiful Astley Park in Chorley to sing for the park folk, enjoying the glorious sunshine. Here’s what one of our listeners thought:
“I was sat eating my sandwich at the cafe when I heard the singing wafting it’s way over to me. I had to investigate to see two extremely talented lasses singing away. Now as a die hard heavy metal fan, opera is not what I usually choose to listen to, but I’m glad I got to hear your singing today. The setting, the weather and even the birds joining in made it a lovely experience. Thank you from this old mosher with bad knees, for a unique experience.” Jackie Porter
Outreach Opera will be performing La Boheme in the Walled Garden on Sept 3rd, so today was a chance to try out the purpose built stage, a beautifully unique space which was just perfect!

La Boheme Summer Tour 2021 – Announcement
Outreach Opera are delighted to announce the summer tour of Puccini’s La Boheme, which will take place at venues across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, beginning July 31st at Hoghton Tower. After a long break due to the pandemic, Outreach Opera hit the streets of Lancashire on Thursday to spread the opera love to passers by in Clitheroe and Whalley. It was wonderful to sing again and as an extra treat, the sun came out!

Outreach Opera managed to finish 2020 on a high, enjoying a series of busking delights, visiting some beautiful locations including St Anne’s, Lytham, Clitheroe, Preston City & Garstang. Bringing festive cheer to the streets, whilst meeting some wonderful people.

Outreach Opera received such a warm welcome on the streets of Huddersfield today. Shoppers heard some well known arias and duets, and Helen & Georgina thoroughly enjoyed talking about opera (and life in general) with passers by. And, the rain held off – bonus!
